Time for a BIG Girl Bed!

We were starting to wonder how long it was going to take Camryn to get out of her crib. She has been stradling the top of it for awhile but has never dared to jump down. She has always loved her crib so I was going to leave her in it as long as I could. Well, she finally jumped out a few days ago. Derek and I were sitting in the living room relaxing when we heard Camryn's bedroom door open. We looked at each other and then out came Camryn. I couldn't help but laugh. She was so proud of herself! She continued to jump out each time she woke up so we decided it was time to turn her crib into a toddler bed before she got hurt. The first few pictures were before the conversion started.

We asked her to show us one last time how she jumped out.

Flying through the air

The finished product! We thought it was going to take us a long time since we are both not very handy but it only took about five minutes.

After we were done, she said she wanted her crib back. Hopefully she learns to love her new BIG girl bed!

Fountain Hills Splash Pad

We headed to Fountain Hills for the day to celebrate Uncle Ronnie's birthday. We went to the splash pad by the big fountain and Camryn had a blast. She especially liked the water getting dumped on her head. If you are ever in Fountain Hills I recommend going there. It is the best splash pad I have ever been to and it feels good when it is 110 degrees outside.

Minnesota Wedding: Patrick and Amy (Guest Post by Derek)

We went to Minneapolis over the 4th of July weekend for my good friend Pat Erikson's wedding. We grew up playing tennis together and ended up at Weber State Universtiy together on the tennis team. During college we were roommates, doubles partners, and great friends. We have had the pleasure of getting to know his new wife Amy from their two years living here in Phoenix and their visits here when they lived in other cities. Allison also knew Pat really well from college and we frequently see his parents on holidays and special occasions.

We went to a dinner party at their house on Friday night. We loved their house and the neighborhood. Everything was green. We got to catch up with some old friends and meet some new ones. 11:00 came quick for us that night.

My parents came along for the trip as well. As usual, the red cup is very close to the DeLancey Family.

We love to run so we went out Saturday morning and we found a great path along the Mississippi River. This was a great view looking back at the city.

Dorks

This was looking down at the path where we ran. We thought it was pretty cool.

The Minnesota Twins new baseball stadium opened this year. We walked around it and the whole area was very cool. We ended up eating lunch in a sports bar in the arena where the Minnesota Timberwolves play. I was in heaven with all of the sporting venues around.

After some much needed rest we went to the wedding. Here is Pat and Amy giving their vows to eachother. There wasn't a dry eye in the house (including me).

Of course, all the guys had to do a shot. Hey, is that my dad in the picture?

One of the highlights of our trip was hanging out with Ryan and Brandy. I had hung out with Ryan a bunch of times through Pat but I hadn't seen him for a couple of years. His fiance Brandy and Allison hit it off and we had great conversations, a lot of jokes, and a great time dancing together. The best thing is that they're from Phoenix also.

Thanks to Grandma Jean and Papa Phil for watching the kids while we were gone! It was nice to have some free time and feel "young" for a few days. We did miss the kids and it was great to see them when we got home.

Happy 4th of July
